CANCER AWARENESS FOR September - September is recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. There are more than 12 major types of childhood cancers and over 100 subtypes. September is also Awareness Month for Blood Cancers (like Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma), Prostate Cancer, Thyroid Cancer, Gynecological Cancers, and Prostate Cancer. Pay attention to any changes in your body and see your doctors for proper screenings. The H.O.P.E. Ministry is here to support you if ever you need them.
Faith To Fit Schedule Change - Starting in September, there will be no exercise class on Thursdays. Classes will take place at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesdays only. Please also note that classes on September 1st and 22nd are cancelled.
ATTENTION MINISTRY LEADERS - Nominations for Ministry Leaders in year 2027 are due to be submitted by Sunday, September 6, 2026. Nomination Forms have been placed in each ministry mailbox. Leaders are asked to complete the form and place it in the “New Ministry Leaders” box that is located atop the Forms & Information table. Even if there are no changes for your ministry, a completed form is still required. If you have questions, contact Deacon Dwight Hagans.
2BC DEBT REDUCTION – T-SHIRT SALES - T-shirts sales to support 2BC Debt Reduction will take place on the first and second Sundays of each month through December 2026. The cost is $20.00 per t-shirt. BROAD ROCK FARMERS MARKET - Will open on September 5th and each 1st and 3rd Saturday through October from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Come out and get fresh fruits and vegetables and other goods. You may take advantage of savings offered through EBT and Take-a-Lap programs.
Women's Fellowship - The Ladies of Virtue invite you to join the Women’s Fellowship that will take place on Saturday, September 5th from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. (and on every first Saturday going forward). Please bring your favorite covered dish to share.
Building Closure - In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the building will be closed and all activities are cancelled on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Leadership Retreat - ATTENTION Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of all Ministries, Deacons, Deaconesses, and Trustees: You are warmly invited to attend the Leadership Retreat scheduled for Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 9:00 A.M.to 12 noon. Celebrating Mrs. Alice Bonner's 100th Birthday On October 9th - Let’s shower her with Birthday cards for this milestone year! Join us by sending cards to Mrs. Alice Bonner at Second Baptist Church, P.O. Great Big Giveaway! - The Young Adult Ministry is thrilled to host the 2nd Annual Great Big Giveaway in the 2BC Parking Lot on Saturday, October 24th from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. This special event is dedicated to blessing the community with good stuff completely free! Participants are asked to reserve space in the parking lot by Sunday, October 18th, then bring the designated goods to 2BC on the day of the event to give them away free of charge from the trunks of your vehicles or table / racks that you provide. The types of goods to be offered can include new or gently used clothes, shoes, furniture, or other household essentials. Open Enrollment For Fall 2026 Courses - The Discipleship Development Ministry (DDM) will offer Courses beginning in September 2026. Registration is now open through September 30th!
